Cornerstone has a variety of ways for adults to get connected and be involved. At Cornerstone we believe that being intentionally connected to the body is the way in which we grow. To learn more about different ways to get involved see the following ministries.
God has hard-wired us for community. We need to be vitally connected to others because we believe spiritual growth flows out of two basic commitments:
1. A commitment to God and the Bible
2. A commitment to significant Christian relationships
For this reason Cornerstone believes in having vibrant community groups where:
- the Bible is discussed and applied in a non-threatening atmosphere
- real, life-long friendships are formed
- questions can be asked and stories told
- it is safe to be yourself
- you can receive encouragement and support right where you are in life
It is our goal to have everyone at Cornerstone to be involved in a community group or another similar small group experience. These groups meet regularly to share and to study God's Word in order to grow spiritually. In addition to regular meetings they participate in service and social activities selected by the group.
For information on current groups please contact the office. Information for groups starting fall 2017 will be up sometime in the summer.
Adult Sunday School
A variety of teachers from the church rotate leading classes on different topics throughout the year. A membership class is also offered during the Sunday School hour at different times throughout the year. Sunday School follows the fellowship time after service and runs from 10:30-11:30am during the school year and breaks for summer.
Current series: Summer Sunday School: Unlikely Heroes
Summer Sunday School this year will be in the form of family devotionals that go with this summer' study of the Judges. Each week the study will be introduced during the Children's Sermon time. Families can pick up a copy of the devotional from the Home Pointe Resource Center or clicking the links below. Each week families complete the devotionals they will receive an UNLIKELY HEROES trading card. If they collect all seven cards they will receive a special prize at the end of the summer (starts with "I" and ends with "eam"). There are also adult and student versions of the study available, and yes, if you do all of yours you can get a prize too!
Young Hearts - 55+
A fellowship event for our seniors that meets monthly. Young Hearts meets on the third Tuesday of each month at noon, a potluck meal is followed by special speakers that share about their interest and hobbies as well as time for prayer and a brief devotional. The church is handicapped accessible and transportation is available if needed.
