School Year Programming
Children, ages 3 through 1st grade are dismissed during the 9:00 AM service to room 106 for Children's Church. They are dismissed right before the Scripture reading in the service. For children birth up through 2 years old, we have two staffed nurseries in the education wing. The nursery is staffed from 8:45 - 11:30 AM during the 9:00 AM service as well as Sunday School.
Children ages 2 through 4th grade meet each Sunday at 10:30 AM. Teachers use a variety of interactive methods to help students learn, understand, and apply the truths of the Bible to their lives. The 2018/2019 theme and focus is "Treehouse."
Adventure Club is for students age 4 up to 5th grade and meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:50 PM. We use materials produced by Pioneer Clubs that are: Christ-centered, Bible-based, participative, noncompetitive, and skill building.
Club members work together to earn awards for Bible study, memory, and skill activities. Students use award points to go "shopping" three times a year in our club store. A highlight of the year is the annual pine wood derby held in May to finish our Wednesday classes. Build your own car from a block of wood and race during the speedway competition at the church. All age groups and skill levels can compete for awards and trophies!
The Bible says that "Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him" (Ps. 127:3 ESV). Here at Cornerstone we provide quality children's programming that you can have confidence in. Jesus used children as an example when talking about faith (Lk. 18:15-17). We believe that investing in children is the future of the kingdom of God. We provide two weekly programs for children as well as different trips, events, and programs that happen at fixed times throughout the year.
