A variety of teachers from the church rotate leading classes on different topics throughout the year. A membership class is also offered during the Sunday School hour at different times throughout the year. All ages and Sunday School classes meet after the worship service from 10:30 - 11:30 AM
God has hard-wired us for community. We need to be vitally connected to others because we believe spiritual growth flows out of two basic commitments: a commitment to God and His Word, and a commitment to significant Christian relationships.
For these reasons, Cornerstone believes in having vibrant community groups where the Bible is discussed and applied in a non-threatening atmosphere. We also are committed to real, life-long friendships and connections. We long for groups to places where it is safe, questions can be asked, and you can receive encouragement and support in your life.
It is our goal for everyone at Cornerstone to be involved in a community group or another similar small group experience. These groups meet regularly to share and study God's Word, as well as to support one another spiritually.
Every Saturday morning a group of men meet at the Hyvee in Owatonna for a men's breakfast. It is a great time of fellowship, friendship, and growth. Anyone interested can simply show up! The men's breakfast meets at 7:30 AM.
Every March a group of guys head up to Camp Shamineau in Motley, MN for their annual "Overhaul" weekend for men. The weekend runs from Friday evening until Sunday midday and consists of worship and teaching sessions in chapel, special events, and free/recreation time. Some activites include but are not limited to: horse trail rides, broomball, leather shop, rifle range, zipline, skeet shooting, ice tower climbing, open gym, rock wall climbing, and more!
The F.U.N. Team hosts events and connects people. F.U.N. stands for: Family, Unity, Network. We focus on connecting our family, extended family, neighbors, and friends. We plan events of interest that will bring all or part of our family together with others with the goal of helping people get connected. This may be through a common interest, something fun, or getting to know someone new.
Examples of some things include but are not limited to: pizza/game nights, movie nights, twins game, artisan showcase, new years game night, and the 4th of July picnic before fireworks on the fairgrounds.
Our goal is to provide an environment that encourages relationships (family), drawing people together (unity), to help encourage one another (network) in their faith and life. Contact the church office for a list of upcoming events.
